Are berries good for you? Ok, that’s a stupid question because all fruits and berries are good for you in moderation (well, except for the poisonous kinds of berries
). I guess what I really want to know is, do they live up to the hype?
You know what I’m talking about. Blueberries are supposed to be super healthy and we should eat them at every opportunity. The same goes for strawberries and raspberries and in fact some people say you should include more red coloured fruits in our diets because they have special mineral or antioxidants or something.
Then there are the newer, well, less known berries like acai berry and goji berries. The are like super fruits. Whatever that means. So they are like super high in antioxidants or something. Really. But what does that mean? I won’t get cancer if I eat them? They can help me to lose weight? What?
So I’m really confused. I guess I’ll just include a little of everything in my diet so some berries, some other fruits, and lots of vegetables of course. Add some protein and carbs into the mix and I should be right. Who knows really. We can only try.
