Albania is a small but adorable country in the Balkan region, close to Greece. It is one of the least visited Mediterranean countries but that is most definitely changing as travellers come to appreciate its amazing beauty. This country has fantastic, white sandy beaches, pristine mountain regions, and vibrant, expanding cities.
Albania’s white sandy beaches are fantastic. They are normally white, sandy beaches although of course there are some pebble beaches as well. You can if you want sit in the warm sun on a mat or rent a sunbed, the decision is up to you. Many of the beaches are totally untouched by foreigners and a number are so quiet that you can possibly be alone on the beach, even in during the peak season.
There are numerous exquisite mountain regions in Albania. These areas in the north are absolutely amazing for skiing or hiking and you can find a few waterfalls and incredible lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in that region are exciting to view but the other mountain regions are also spectacular.
Albanian cities are bustling with a cafe culture resulting in hundreds of hip cafes to spend time in. Albania cities like Kukes are worth spending a few days in to visit the unusual old city area and not to mention to visit a museum or two.
You will most likely find that Albanians are very warm and will be happy to take you around their country if you take the time to visit it.
