Albania is a tiny but adorable country in the Balkans, neighbouring Kosovo. This country is one of the less popular countries in Europe but that is starting to change as more and more tourists realise its fantastic attractions. It has fantastic, pure white sandy beaches, pretty much untouched mountain regions, and happening, growing cities.
Albania’s pure white sandy beaches are extraordinary. The beaches are usually white, sandy beaches although there are a handful of pebble beaches as well. You could if you like hang out in the hot sun on a blanket or rent a lounge, the choice is up to you. A lot of the beaches are practically untouched by foreign tourists and a handful are so out of the way that you could possibly be alone on the beach, even in summer.
There are a number of mountainous regions in Albania. The mountains in the north are fabulous for skiing or hiking and you can also view a couple of waterfalls and pristine lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in that region are brilliant to see but the other mountain regions are also spectacular.
Albanian cities are fun with a cafe culture so there are huge numbers of great cafes to relax in. Albania cities including Shkodra are worth spending a few days in to view the historic old city area and possibly to visit a few museums.
You will most likely find that Albanians are extremely welcoming and will be glad to show you around their country if you take the time to visit it.
