Albania is a fairly small but very cute country in the Balkans, near Italy. It’s quite possibly the least visited countries in the Mediterranean but that is slowly changing as travellers realise its wonderful sites. It has wonderful, clean sandy beaches, pretty much untouched mountain regions, and trendy, changing cities.
Albania’s white sandy beaches are amazing. These beaches are generally white, sandy beaches although there are some pebble beaches too. You could if you want lie down in the hot dry sun on a mat or lease a sun bed, the option is up to you to make. Almost all of the beaches are more or less untouched by foreign tourists and a few are so quiet that you can possibly be alone on the beach, even in summer.
There are many fantastic mountain regions in Albania. The mountains in the north are ideal for skiing or hiking and you can view many waterfalls and clean lakes in the area. These mountains are fantastic to see but the other mountain regions are also great.
Albanian cities are vibrant with a cafe culture meaning there are plenty of busy cafes to hang out in. Albania cities including Gjirokastra are worth visiting to see the historic old city area and not to mention to visit a couple of museums.
You are sure to find that people from Albania are very warm and will be more than glad to present to you their country if you take the time to visit.
